A nice view down the valley from near the summit.
Long Mynd, is a large hill or small mountain (I know there's a word for one of these in Spanish - I can't remember what it is though) on the Shropshire/Wales border and above the town of Church Stretton. It's a really great place to go walking and is just about an hour from my home. The scenery just cries out for someone with a camera due to its rugged, bleak and harsh heather-strewn landscape, wind-blasted trees and sprinkled hikers. There's some great routes across the hill and even a gliding club if you need to get a look from higher up. I took a trip out here in November 2011, and a six-mile yomp was a perfect way to blow out some cobwebs. Also, I wanted to say thanks to all those people who took up the suggestion from Monday and subscribed to the blog - cheers all, subscription rates went up massively, if you haven't signed up yet, please feel free to do so, I'll endeavour to continue to supply more of the same! Meanwhile, for more images...

Near the top of the Mynd, some of the moor ponies that live there, more of these soon.

On the ascent.

Walkers gather at the summit for some tea...well this is Britain after all!
|
And on the way down, this from on the ridge.

Holiday home for rent...

In the woods during the early part of the climb. Eastern European headgear always useful...

Saul, this is a magnificent photograph!
Beautifully done!
Wonderful scenery, the colors of nature there are simply amazing.
(the word in Spanish that you are looking for could be "sierra" or "cordillera", perhaps)
Aha! Cordillera indeed, thanks!
